1 • IS EVERY PROJECT "BY THE ROOM"?
Yes • We are able to keep our design fee super accessible this way and be able to off you awesome and styled interior design.
2 • WHAT IS THE SIZE OF A ROOM? I HAVE AN OPEN CONCEPT HOUSE.
A room is 300 square feet or less. If you live in an open concept layout, we will chat about the "room" during our phone or in-person consult.
3 • WILL YOU DO MORE THAN ONE ROOM AT A TIME? CAN I GET A DISCOUNTED RATE?
We certainly would love that! We often end up designing an entire home for our clients. #LOVE
We currently don't combine projects/rooms so each room will be its own individual project.
We have thoughtfully priced our projects to offer financially accessible design. Because of our considered project price, we don't offer a discounted rate.
4 • Speaking of costs, how do YOUR payment terms work?
We require the full design fee in order to commence our project together. NO retainers or hourly fees are ever asked.
5 • IS OUR DESIGN PROJECT IN PERSON THE ENTIRE TIME OR IS THIS MORE E-DESIGN?
One of the ways that Orlov Design Co. is unique, fresh, and fun to work with is that you get the best of both worlds. We do an in-person consult at your home but most of our designing will be done virtually. We do offer some shopping timelines as well.
The 3-Step Design Process will be emailed to you and managed through IVY, our business management platform (so our entire project from proposal to invoice to designs to approving items to payments will have a digital footprint that you will always have access to!)
Our model is about working together to design your interior and also to teach design principles to format your room (and really any room!) We know how busy you are and value your time.
6 • AS WE GO THROUGH OUR 3-STEP DESIGN PROCESS, WHAT IF I NEED MORE THAN ONE RouND OF REVISIONS?
We are happy to work with you so you feel comfortable with your design direction. We are happy to revise your room vignette (Step 2) more than one time but we also ask that you commit to our mood board and design direction from Step 1.
7 • CAN I UPGRADE TO THE DESIGN & BUY PACKAGE AT ANY POINT?
Yes • You just need to pay the difference and sign our revised Design Agreement.
8 • HOW DOES PROCUREMENT WORK?
If you have selected the DESIGN & BUY Package, we will procure all of your approved items for you.
We typically procure To-The-Trade items, extending our wonderful discounts your way. We will also purchase retail items + a small mark up for these items.
For your purchased pieces, we will manage the shipping, storage, any refunds, etc, of each item along with an approved 1-day installation of your room.
We ask that you sign our Item Procurement form, pay our flat Labor Fee and provide your credit card or form of payment for all purchases we will make on your behalf.
9 • WILL WE BE SHOPPING IN PERSON TOGETHER?
Yes • We do offer a shopping timeline for clients with the DESIGN & BUY Package. We will determine the size and scope of your project/room and decide together.
10 • Do you handle the entire install of my new room? Even hanging lights and curtains?
Yes • We work with our trusted vendors to help move all of your new items into your new home and arrange them. We offer electrical install as well as soft furnishings install.
11 • What if I just don't love the design direction we are going and this isn't a good fit?
We understand that this can certainly happen. We offer a full design fee refund within 24-hours of initial payment. We offer 50% refund after Step 1. There are no refunds after Step 2 and on.
