THE 7 DESIGN PRINCIPLES & HOW TO APPLY THEM
(Client work by Orlov Design Co. • Interior Design)
The only NO that I ever say to Clients is "There are NO rules" to design." But there is a second part to this statement:
The design principles give structure to design and, therefore, your experience. The design principles are achieved through the elements of design, a pre-list of components that the design world embraces to create experiences for you. And this is how I work with my clients. A visual narrative is not about the content and message but also the visual experience that someone has as they navigate your design. A room, a website, an artwork, a plate of food at a fine dining spot, no matter what it is, an engaging, memorable and compelling design story uses the elements and principles wisely to make it all come together.
